Ai Che Wawa (Print)
I met Min (short for Minnie) on a trip to Cary, NC and fell in love with her expressive eyes. She was being carried in a beautiful black and white scarf. My original plan for this painting was to recreate that image with a variety of fun vintage papers. However, after a visit to the National Museum of Art in D.C., I was influenced by the ornate portrait backgrounds of Kehinde Wiley and the gold leaf designs on the robe of a Medieval Saint to paint the scarf design in gold metallic.
