Cherries
Caught this cardinal hanging out in my cherry tree... all puffed out and looking rather content. There are, apparently, several reasons a bird will puff out his feathers and since this was a momentary gesture I'd like to think he was just full of fruit and giving gratitude to our Maker.
I had found a fern in my yard that survived a recent frost. I was inspired to use it as a "stencil" to give the background a subtle texture … also punched out faux cherries from saved metallic packaging papers.
