In a Lotus Garden

A few years ago my photographer friend and I were on an inspirational drive for reference photos. We found ourselves at a huge lotus pond near Ligonier, PA. When we got out of the car the sound of newly hatched cicadas was overpowering! What started as a mission to photograph beautiful summer flowers turned into a cicada photo shoot. I added a found metal cicada to another stem. And, oh .... those red eyes!!!
