Lunch on the Rocks

$185.00

While kayaking last summer, this Painted Turtle intrigued me as it was perched precariously on driftwood in the lake. I added the dragonfly (to adhere to the spirit of my 24 Minis Exhibit proposal) along with buttons to represent rocks. My first portrait of a Painted Turtle (2014) was a little baby my friend was inspired to winter over in her home. She named it Buttons ... ‘cause it was “Cute as a .....” and I vowed I’d add vintage buttons to each Painted Turtle piece I create to honor the original.

Anisoptera

Part of the “Bugs Beyond the Pond” (Honorable Mention) “24 Minis” Juried Exhibition at the Manos Gallery, Tarrentum, PA. in August 2024.
