Ahhh… this one was inspiration from the moment I started the drawing! Years ago I was at the Duncan Farm in Dunbar, PA right after this calf had been born. The Duncan girls helped in her birth as her mom was having a hard time … sadly, Mom didn’t make it but the girls named the calf Daisy… their Gram’s favorite flower! This is the third painting I’ve done of Daisy, and had always disregarded this profile, thought it to be too sad, until I really looked AT her … and feel her eye(s) tell a deeper story. I kept thinking of John 14:18 where Jesus tells his disciples “I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you.”
